My first child is now old enough to drive. He actually went job hunting last weekend. Of course, there were no jobs to be found, but he went looking all the same.

Apparently, if you leave your blog alone for many, many moons, it gets hijacked. I don’t know how, but the footers on some of my themes had been clogged up with crap code (spam links for online prescription drugs, mostly). Only two of the themes were messed up, though. I don’t understand that. Were the others not good enough to be smeared with crap?

Anyway, that was all fixed and I changed my password, not that I am sure that’s how they got spammed. The pages are still slow to load, though. I need to figure out why that’s happening.

So… what am I doing here? I don’t know. I just got the urge to do something with this old place. I miss it and the community that comes with it. Nostalgia…

Seven Months Later

Oh yeah! I have a website!

Life is good.

- Zachary joined the band and his instrument of choice, the trombone, arrived this week. (Hooray for eBay!)
- Gage is doing ok. We’re still having the same old problems this school year that we’ve had every year, but not as severe as before. Puberty has fully set in for him. In one sentence he can sound like a man and a cute little girl. It’s amusing.
- Jeremy’s still doing his thing. He bought himself a convertible Miata a few months back. He’s wanted one for the longest time. We spent most of our summer driving the backroads with the top down. I now want my own convertible.
- I’m still a stay-at-home-mom and I still play online games, though not nearly as much. Still not pregnant or actively trying, but still wanting.

Speaking of kiddos, mine have a birthday on Thursday. Gage will be 15 ( ) and Zachary will be 11. How. On. Earth. did they (I) get so old?

Forever

It has been a very long time since I wrote anything here. My life has been eventful lately, and I haven’t really wanted to share everything with the world, as it was happening.

Let’s see, a run-down of what’s happened to me since October, not exactly in chronological order.

I found out around the first of December that I was pregnant. (We’ve been trying for about two years.) I planned to make the big announcement at my family’s big Christmas gathering, but started spotting the very day we arrived. Spent the entire vacation on semi-bedrest only to lose the baby the day after Christmas.
Other than not being able to visit with anyone who didn’t come to my parents house to visit me, and not being able to be on my feet more than a few minutes at a time, I had a pretty good visit with my parents.
After two miscarriages in two years, I’ve decided to give the whole trying to concieve thing a rest for a while. So far, there are no future plans to resume.
The only thing that kept me from depression during the whole ordeal is that we got a call from a realtor on Christmas Eve telling us that there was an offer on our house, it only took fourteen months to get one.
On the 24th of January, we ceased to be homeowners and renters. Now we are just renters saving up to be homeowners again. :party:

In light of all the stress that was involved in selling that house, it is probably a good thing I lost the baby when I did.

Gage is doing pretty well in school. Actually, our whole family dynamic has improved a LOT over the last couple of years.
Jeremy introduced me to a free online game, Voyage Century. I think I’m obsessed/addicted.

If you follow that link and think you want to play, be aware that the game is a ~1gig download. If you don’t have, at least, dsl then you probably don’t even want to attempt it.

I guess that’s about it. If I think of anything else, I’ll add it to the list.

Like Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwiches? Want one free? Go to freechickenandcoke.com and you might get a coupon for a free sandwich and medium coke. They are giving out one million coupons, but the offer ends on the 29th even if they didn’t all get given away.

Personally, I think that Chick-Fil-A has the best chicken sandwiches and would be getting a coupon if I could use it. However, there isn’t a Chick-Fil-A in Bloomington/Normal, except the one in the State Farm cafeteria and you have to be an employee to get into the cafeteria. (Scratch that, I checked and there are three CFAs in the area. One in each of the State Farm campuses and one on the Illinois State campus… all with restricted access. :birdmad: )

Anyway, if you want one, you better sign up for it. (They come through the mail, btw.)

Um… excuse me, but I thought there was a transition from Summer to Autumn. I guess not, seeing how we were in shorts yesterday and jackets today. Since when did 60 degrees (F) get so cold? Am I getting wussier in my old(er) age? Don’t get me wrong here, now. I love Autumn, it’s my favorite season, so I’m not complaining. It’s just that I like to be eased into it. Ya know.

Been Listening to Too Much John Mellencamp Lately

Ah. I went through all of my myspace messages, answered those that needed answering, and deleted the ones that needed deleted. I feel like I’ve accomplished something. Why, oh why, can’t laundry and dishes get done with the click of a mouse button?

I am so thrilled with and proud of my oldest son! For (it feels like eternity) four years now, we have been going through hell trying to get him through school. Every year it’s the same story, he doesn’t do his work. He doesn’t turn in his assignments. He winds up with F’s on his report card or he (and I) works his(our) ass(es) off during the last two or three weeks of the quarter to pull up enough grades that he passes to the next grade. (Though, that didn’t happen two years ago, when he failed the 6th grade.) The frustrating part of all of it is that he’s not failing because he can’t do the work or grasp the concepts. He’s smart as a whip, he Just. Wouldn’t. Do. The. Work! (Or wouldn’t turn it in after it was done.)

Well, he got his mid-term yesterday and he has 3 A’s, 2 B’s, and 1 C and not one single missing assignment! I’m so happy I could dance nekkid! Well, except that that might scar him for life and we’d probably lose any ground that we had gained. I think I will hold off on the dancing and just hug him silly.
